Bellefontaine High School recently named its Seniors of the Month.

Name: Riley Neer

Parents: Joshua and Amanda Neer

Address: Bellefontaine

School activities and awards: Football, Basketball, Baseball, CBC awards in every sport, FCA, Chieftain Leaders, Key Club, and National Honor Society.

If I were principal for a day: I would cancel all classes and have some sort of competition, like a dodgeball or kickball tournament or a talent show.

Favorite school memory: Beating John Glenn at home in the football playoffs. It was only the second home playoff win in the history of Bellefontaine. That was our last time ever playing on the field, and it was an awesome experience with my teammates.

People who have been an inspiration to me: My parents.

Lately I’ve been reading: The Bible.

My advice to parents: Be consistent and love unconditionally. Stand strong in your faith and raise your children with a strong foundation in your faith.

My biggest regret: Not pushing myself as hard as I could have in my younger years. Whether on the field or in the classroom, I could have been more successful if I would have worked a little harder.

Next year: I will be playing college football and majoring in pre-medicine.

Name: Kyndal Newkirk

Parents: Greg and Amber Newkirk

Address: Bellefontaine

School activities and awards: Golf, National Honor Society Social Media Coordinator, DARE, Band, Choir, Les Fons, Musical, CBC 1st and 2nd Team as well as Sportsmanship Award for Golf, and Heart of a Chieftain Award.

If I were principal for a day: I would have a big movie day where everyone comes to school in pajamas, and we would have popcorn and snacks!

Favorite school memory: My sophomore year when the band went to the Shoe at Ohio State and performed, then we got to stay and watch other bands perform including TBDBITL!!

People who have been an inspiration to me: My mom because she is always so kind to everyone and wants the best for everyone around her. She never fails to make people laugh or put a smile on their face.

Lately I’ve been reading: My Norton textbook from Mrs. Standley or any book I can find on my bookshelf.

My advice to parents: Let your kids be kids. They are going to mess up, but that is part of the growing up process.

My biggest regret: Taking time for granted. I never realized how fast time goes. Before you know it, you’re a senior and your high school years are almost over.

Next year: I will be attending Rhodes State College and majoring in radiology.
