The Bellefontaine High School Quiz Bowl team competed in the Small School State Championship in Upper Sandusky on Saturday.

The Chiefs finished 7th out of 32 teams. BHS went 6-3.

Bellefontaine defeated Tiffin Calvert B, Evergreen, Black River, Lancaster Fisher Catholic, Toledo Ottawa Hills B, and Benjamin Logan.

BHS suffered two losses to state champion Miami Valley and fell in a rematch against Lancaster Fisher Catholic.

The team was led by senior Oliver Moreland and junior Jeffrey Smith.

Nolan Core, Jake Moreland, and Emily Taylor also made strong contributions.

The BHS Quiz Bowl team (18-6) will compete in the Small School National Championship in Chicago on April 26th-28th.

The team is coached by Cliff Core.
