The Bellefontaine City Schools robotics teams shined at multiple competitions across Ohio this weekend.

The B-Town Bots High School robotics teams competed at the Rumble in the Hangar VRC event at Shenandoah High School near Cambridge on Saturday. This event hosted 32 teams from 10 schools for a combined middle school and high school competition.

Bellefontaine dominated the tournament and the Excellence Award categories with tournament champion alliance teams 9185A - FOAM and 9185B - BIOHAZARD.

The FOAM team members are junior Alex Cavanaugh along with sophomores Ryann Gatchel, Lorenz Henry, Hayden Maus, and Mason Swisher.

The BIOHAZARD team includes freshmen Dalton Frazier, Alex Sandoval, Andy McDonald, and Brayden Studnicki.

The Bellefontaine Middle School teams 7865E Slurp-Ez and 7865C Microsoft had an incredible day competing against middle school and high school teams where they ended the qualifications round in 4th and 5th places, respectively. They had a strong showing in the knockout competition, but we're defeated in a close match by the BHS teams (FOAM and Biohazard).

The Slurp-Ez team members are 8th graders Trinity Fout, Marek Frazier, Brody Miranda, and Cody Robb.

The Microsoft team features 8th graders Hayden Argabright, Will Gates, and Graham Trittschuh along with 7th grader Charlie Moreland.

Five additional middle school teams had a great day of competition and represented themselves, their school, and community well.

The teams of 9185A, 9185B, and 7865E earned a spot at the Ohio State Vex Robotics Competition on March 8th-9th.

All B-Town Bots teams will be in competition on Saturday, February 17th. Some of the teams will compete at the Milford Schools VRC event, while Team 9185A will be at the Launch signature event at the Great Lakes Science Center in Cleveland.

BHS robotics are coached by Micah Woolf and Dustin Van Buskirk.

BMS robotics are coached by Sandi Chervenak and Jordan Reser.

Finally, the Bellefontaine Intermediate School Bacon Bots competed at the Brookside VEX IQ Elementary Competition near Cleveland on Saturday. The event featured 34 teams from across Ohio.

The Bacon Bots ranked 15th in their Skills Competition and 22nd in the Team Competition.

The Bacon Bots were awarded the Energy Award for their enthusiasm and team spirit.

The BIS Bacon Bots team members are fifth-graders Griffin Burkhardt, Garrett Gossard, Matthew Torsell, Jerome Wickham, and Camden Vollrath.

The team is ranked 36th in Skills in the state. They have one more competition to try and secure an invitation to State Competition in March.
