Bellefontaine Elementary School students learned about healthy lifestyle choices on Friday.

The school hosted its annual health fair, which is coordinated by kindergarten teachers Lauren Burkhardt and Carol Fultz.

The health fair featured seven stations at each grade level.

Several community leaders shared their expertise to kindergartners through second-graders.

Bellefontaine Mayor Ben Stahler showed how to properly handle a service dog in training.

Local police officers discussed how to stay safe.

Students learned many exercises to stay fit.

BCS Food Service Director Winnie Jacks explained healthy eating options.

The OSU Extension Office showcased their “blender bike.”

Students rode the bike to generate enough energy to make smoothies on a blender powered by the bike.

BHS DARE Club members performed a puppet show.

Burkhardt said, “The purpose of the health fair is to educate students on ways to live a healthy life, physically and mentally.”

There was no health fair last year because of COVID.

34 volunteers helped at this year’s event.
