Every Bellefontaine Middle School student now has a new learning tool.

Chromebooks were distributed to over 500 students on Thursday.

Tech coach Meagan Young presented a 30-minute training session on how to use and care for the devices.

She is encouraging each student to try one new skill per day.

STEM teacher Jordan Reser went over several basic skills with 8th graders.

He was thrilled that every student received a Chromebook.

Reser said, “This is the first time that Bellefontaine students have been one-to-one with devices, which is a massive change. I know most of the kids were excited this morning. This gives us an opportunity for students to develop 21st Century Skills.”

Reser thinks everyone should be adjusted to using Chromebooks in the next few weeks.

Bellefontaine City Schools has transitioned to a Google one-to-one classroom this school year, meaning each student in the middle school and high school has their own computer.

Elementary and intermediate school students (grades K-5) are assigned a Chromebook to keep at school.
